Rogers like many VOD
providers is moving towards a simultaneous DVD and VOD
launch window for selected titles |
Clearly IPTV operators face a
significant challenge in differentiating their offer from incumbent
cable and satellite operators.
Small subscriber numbers make it
uneconomical to invest too heavily in content and services that are
resource heavy or untried, but at the same time, IPTV faces the
problem of being seen as a 'me-too' service, particularly in the US
market.
We will address issues such as what
content to offer, (particularly content that can compliment
broadcast TV) and the optimal ways of presenting that content to
consumers so that they embrace VOD, just as many consumers are
embracing multi-channel TV and PVR products.
Most importantly, PayMedia
and our partners can help existing and emerging IPTV
networks to enhance and monetise
their IPTV services.
Many IPTV networks face the
challenge of making their offer more relevant and appealing to both
existing and potential subscribers. On this site and through our
consulting work we will begin to illustrate
how operators can help deliver an integrated series of products
around the 'digital lifestyle' of their customers and enhance the
way they interact with and plan their viewing.
In many ways, our work on
EPG,
Marketing, User Interfaces,
Metadata,
Enhanced TV, Pricing and
Packaging and Mobile TV are
all critical to defining and enhancing the IPTV product
offer.
In addition, PayMedia and
our partners offer an IPTV / VOD tracking service, listing and updating on a regular basis the
content offer on major IPTV and cable VOD deployments around the
world. To find out more about this service, and our work in the IPTV
space, email
